Bowtie Woodworks, originally called Wood Water Project, started as a non-profit, 1 year endeavor to raise money in hopes to help organizations bring clean drinking water to the millions around the world living without.

After the one year project was finished, Owner, Joe Freed decided to continue with his passion of wood working and started Bowtie Woodworks in downtown Indianapolis.

The name Bowtie Woodworks comes from the bowtie keys used to prevent the spread of cracks in the wood. After using bowtie keys in almost every project, they became a staple in Joe's work. It was a simple decision to incorporate his iconic bowties into the name of his wood shop.
